Peaberries are estimated to make up to around 10% of a coffee bean harvest. This occurs as a result of a natural mutation, inside a coffee cherry, where one of the two ovules fails to pollinate correctly. This results in extra space for the single developing seed. Within this space, a larger and rounder seed grows inside and this we call a peaberry.
Its best roasted light to meduim to produce a sweet, nutty overtones and delicate note of chocolate and marshmallow. Packed full of interesting flavour, this versatile coffee is best brewed in a variety of methods, including a French Press, V60, AeroPress and Moka Pot.
